Abstract

The composition of the essential oils isolated from leaves and berries of Juniperus communis L., an endemic species from North of Iran.were investigated by GC and GC/MS.

-thujene (3.9%), -pinene (8.7%), sabinene (28.2%), myrcene(3.8%),

-terpinene(4.4%), limonene (9.9%), (E)--ocimene (7.1%), cis-sabinene hydrate (3.7%), terpinen-4-ol (9.3%), methyl citronellate (6.6%) were the major constituents of the oils from leaves and -thujene (5.1%), -pinene (18.1%), sabinene ( 31.8%), myrcene (7.9%), limonene (15.6%), (E)-- ocimene (4.5%) were the major ones of the oil from berries.

Abstract

In this research we survey variability of essential oils of leaves and berries of Juniperus sabina L. that is one of endemic and odor species in North of Iran. We used in this investigate from GC and GC/MS for analysis.

Result in this research show that sabinene (58.7%), myrcene (4.6%), -terpinene (3.0%), trans-sabinene hydrate (2.9%), terpinene-4-ol (7.7%), citronellol (4.5%) were the major constituents of essential oil of leaves and -tujene (5.5%), -pinene (10.2%), sabinene (454.7%), myrcene (6.4%), -terpinene (4.8%), limonene (6.4%), (E)--ocimene(7.7%) were the important chemical constituents of oil from berries in Juniperus sabina L.

ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY OF SUBSTITUTED BENZALDEHYDE

DEHYDROABIETYLAMINE SCHIFF BASES

Radbil2, Ling He3 Institute of Chemical industry of Forest Products, Chinese Academy of Forestry, Nanjing, China Lesma Research and Promotion Limited Liability Company, Nizhni Novgorod, Russia Department of Pharmacology, China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing, China Schiff bases derived from primary amines and substituted benzaldehydes exhibit antibacterial, anticancer, and antitumor activity. Rosin derivatives displayed significant biological activities, such as antibacterial, antifungal, gastroprotective, cytotoxic, antisecretory, antipepsin and anti-penetrant activities. Although much attention has been paid to the bioactivity of derivatives of rosin, the antitumor activities of Schiff base derivatives of dehydroabietylamine have never been dealted with. In our previous studies, the synthesis and antibacterial activities of substituted benzaldehyde dehydroabietylamine Schiff bases were investigated, in this paper, we report the antitumor activity of substituted benzaldehyde dehydroabietylamine Schiff bases.
